What changed

A concise summary of the work delivered in this release.

  • Added cover recovery jobs and candidate storage for missing, broken, fallback, and low-confidence covers.
  • Extended extension Quick Save with source-page evidence, poster candidates, rendered image capture, and screenshot fallback.
  • Added local cover origin metadata so entries can distinguish remote URLs, downloaded covers, extension images, screenshots, manual uploads, and recovery suggestions.
  • Added server-side cover normalization with WebP conversion and size-aware compression for stored cover images.
  • Tightened catalog contribution identity so broad listing pages do not merge unrelated titles, and Latest additions orders by new catalog title creation.

User value

How this release improves the experience, workflow, or control users get from LoreKeep.

  • Saved entries should keep their covers even when remote sites block hotlinking or later change image URLs.
  • Users can see where a cover came from and how much storage it uses.
  • Screenshots are now a last fallback rather than the first answer when a real image can be captured.
  • Latest additions should better reflect unique new catalog titles instead of unrelated user updates.

Full notes

Additional context, implementation notes, or rollout details for this release.

LoreKeep now treats covers as something worth preserving instead of trusting every remote image URL forever. The extension sends richer page evidence, the web app tries to cache working image URLs locally, and broken pages can fall back to rendered image capture or a screenshot only when needed. Local covers are normalized so they stay small, and the catalog contribution path is stricter about unique title identity.
