What is coming
A concise summary of the work planned for this upcoming item.
- Expand entry media beyond image-only support.
- Add real video-aware handling where the media model already expects it.
- Improve entry presentation so richer assets can appear cleanly in library views.
- Build on the existing media-asset foundation instead of bolting on a separate system later.
Why it matters
How this planned work should improve the experience once it ships.
- Collections will be able to present more varied content instead of relying on one cover image.
- Users who manage reference-heavy or media-heavy libraries should get a better presentation layer.
- The app will move closer to a fuller collection platform rather than a text-first record system.
More detail
Additional roadmap context, scope notes, or rollout expectations for this upcoming post.
The media system was designed to go beyond static cover images. Upload and external image support are already live, the schema already models multiple media kinds, and entry creation currently makes it explicit that video is planned but not available yet. The next roadmap step is turning that groundwork into richer entry media so library pages can present more than text and a single image.
